Aja Das



Aja Vidya Das is a  practitioner of the Mahayana Buddhist school of Mahasandhi Atiyoga (Dzogchen) and Chod. Aja Das is also the founder of Udyana Mandala.

For over twenty five years followed a traditional form of training, study, several closed solitary meditation retreats, and direct instruction and guidance from accomplished Buddhist masters; and also followed formal Buddhist Philosophical studies for a period of 6 years . 



Aja Das has received teachings and transmission from many teachers, including the main teachers: Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and Ayang Rinpoche, and also many others such as  Garchen Rinpoche,  Ranyak Patrul Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche, H.H. The Dalai Lama,  H.H Sakya Trizin, Shepa Dorje Rinpoche, Chokyi Nyima  Rinpoche, Khamtrul Rinpoche, Togden Acho and several others. 


Having received a very detailed and extensive training, Aja Das has the needed qualifications, confirmations and the direct experiences required to transmit and teach the path of Atiyoga.

Over the years and with the goal to enrich the understanding of the spiritual path and different views, also studied the teachings and methods of other traditions, such as Ch'an and Zen Buddhism in particular.  Even though having trained and studied within the Tibetan Buddhist schools of practice, Aja Das holds a respectful and pluralist view of spirituality, deeply respecting all spiritual traditions.



At the moment living full time in the Udyana Shala (Quinta Udyana), a meditation retreat center and organic  sustainable farm  in the mountains in Portugal. This is a way of life that balances the spiritual path, retreat and a sustainable simple life in harmony with nature. At the same time sharing and assisting others in the path by teaching, guiding to the discovery of the essence of mind; and also writing among other activities.
